Flat Roof Installation Services

Sunbury Roofing Contractors specialise in providing high-quality flat roofing solutions for both residential and commercial properties, ensuring durability, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal. Here's an overview of our flat roof installation services, the materials we use, and the process we follow to deliver exceptional results.

Flat Roofing Materials

1. EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer)

Overview:

  1. EPDM is a synthetic rubber roofing membrane. EPDM is known for its durability and versatility which is ideal for residential and commercial flat roofing. This material has a relatively long lifespan, typically 25-30 years. It has good weather resistance and is flexible and easier to install than other materials. It also requires very little long-term maintenance. On the down-side it can be punctured by sharp objects. This type of material is not for DIY flat roofing installation.

  2. TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin). TPO is a single-ply roofing membrane that combines the benefits of EPDM and PVCTPO is a single-ply roofing membrane that combines the benefits of EPDM and PVC. It is reflective and therefore ideal for energy concious residential and commercial property owners. As well as being energy-efficient, it is durable and resistant to UV damage. this environmentally friendly material is requires some specialised installation techniques and can be more expensive than other options.

  3. Built-Up Roofing (BUR). BUR systems are constructed by alternating layers of bitumen and reinforcing fabrics, creating a robust and long-lasting flat roof. These flat roofs are weatherproof, long-lasting and durable. They are however, heavy and require strong roofing structure, for this reason they are ideal for commercial properties.

  4. Modified Bitumen. Similar to BUR but include polymer modifiers for enhanced performance. These flat roof systems are durable, flexible and able to withstand temperature fluctuations. They are also relatively easy to maintain and repair, however, require specialised installation and are more expensive than BUT flat roof systems.
